LINCOLN OUTDOOR CENTER GUIDE

Position: Sea Kayak Guide

Reports to: Lincoln Outdoor Center's Program Coordinator

General Function: Lead Tours and as assigned, assist on multi-day trips.

Sea Kayak Guide Job Duties:

  • Cheerful, positive and interested in helping customers
  • Be interested in customers and in learning about them
  • Must love Sea Kayaking and sharing the sport, and the features of Maine, with others
  • Strong Sea Kayaker familiar with our trip areas
  • Strong understanding of risk management and risk assessment
  • Strong communication skills
  • On water group management skills
  • Know, or be willing and able to learn, local natural and human history of each trip area
  • Able to lift 65-95 pounds with assistance
  • Comfortable giving basic Sea Kayak instruction
  • Able to provide a safe trip environment and able to perform open water rescues of single and tandem kayaks
  • Clean driving record and strong driving skills, (including backing up a 15-passenger van with a full trailer

  • Must be a Registered ME Sea Kayaking Guide and have Standard CPR/First Aid Cert (upon start date)
